Operating Principle
The working principle of induction heating machines lies in the electromagnetic induction principle.
An alternating current generator supplies a sinusoidal current to the induction coil. As the current
direction alternates at high speed, it gives rise to an oscillating magnetic field around the coil. When
a metal component, for example, a copper pipe, is placed within this magnetic field, the changing
magnetic field induces a voltage within the copper pipe. This induced voltage drives the flow of eddy
currents in the pipe. The resistance of the copper to these eddy currents results in the conversion of
electrical energy into heat, which can be used for processes like soldering the joints of the copper pipe.
